The health survey will continue to collect information through August!

As of August 10, you have enrolled over 1290 Standard Schnauzers in the health survey.
Can we make our goal of 1600 dogs?

Among the first 1000 dogs enrolled, we have data for age and cause of death for 151 dogs. The average age at death was 12.2 years – only 21 dogs were less than 8 years old (7 less than 5 years) at the time of death.

It is good to know our dogs live so long, but our data are weak, as we have data for only 2% of the deaths.
We are missing information for over 3000 dogs that died during the 02-07 time period.

In total, we are still missing information on the health status of over 7,000 Standard Schnauzers who were alive at some point in the January 2002 – December 2007 period.

It only takes a few minutes to complete the survey and every bit of data and every dog helps us obtain a more complete picture of the health of our breed.
