RULES FOR SSCA AWARDS PROGRAM - CERTIFICATES/MEDALLIONS/PLAQUES

  • A medallion or a certificate is offered to members whose dogs attain an AKC title(s) during the previous year.
The AKC will recognize titles earned in several new sports where events and titles are sponsored by other organizations. These events include Barn Hunt, Flyball, Search and Rescue, Diving Dogs, and Disc Dog. Although these titles may not be obtained at AKC events, you can have your titles recognized through the AKC Title Recognition Program. Please provide the AKC Title Certificate for proof of title when requesting certificates/medallions/plaques.
You MUST complete the form - see link at the bottom of this page - and send it to the Awards Chairperson to receive a certificate. Certificates will no longer be prepared automatically. Award plaques may also be purchased. See # 9 of this section.

  • A medallion may be purchased, for $5.00, for completing a Rally title.
  • The owner must be a member of the SSCA prior to the date of the show at which the dog attains its title(s).

If both are members, the owner will receive the certificate or medallion, if requested, and the co-owner may apply for a second certificate or medallion and may also purchase a plaque. See # 9 of this section. A non-member cannot be given a certificate or medallion or purchase a plaque.
  • Awards will be given for the calendar year in which the title is attained. This does not mean that all wins or legs must be earned during that year. There will be no retroactive awards.
