(Revised 04/07)

The profile of an individual qualified to receive this award is one who has contributed to the Standard Schnauzer Club of America in an unselfish way over a long period of time.   This award is designed to honor those members who, like Ruth Inman, give of themselves for the welfare of Standard Schnauzers and in support of the SSCA.   They are the members who can be counted upon to do the sometimes difficult, often thankless tasks upon which the club depends.   They should currently be a member of the SSCA and have maintained membership status for a minimum of ten (10) years.

The Ruth Inman Service Award is not designed as an annual award; - there may be years in which no one is nominated and selected for this honor.   The nominations originate from the membership; the SSCA Board chooses the recipient.   The President or a designated alternate will present the award at the Annual Awards banquet during the SSCA National Specialty weekend.   Only one (1) award may be given per year.

The Standard Schnauzer Club of America approved the Ruth Inman Service Award in 1995. The award was created in memory of Ruth Inman who gave many years of service to her beloved breed and the SSCSC and SSCA breed clubs.   It was established to recognize those who have given of their time and energies in an unselfish way to the betterment of the SSCA, it's affiliated local clubs, and the Standard Schnauzer breed.

It is not an annual award, and, there may be no more than one awarded each year.
