- Annual Dues
The annual dues for members shall be:
- $40 for single membership
- $45 for family membership
- $50 for Local Member Clubs
- Foreign membership dues are the same as U.S. members plus foreign
postage charge for the Pepper `N Salt.
Members who have not provided a CASS acceptable address may be charged an
additional fee to cover the cost of First Class postage for SSCA publications mailed to such
members.

The Treasurer shall, in the month of February, furnish a list of members in good standing to
the Secretary and Membership Chairperson for distribution to the membership either
through inclusion in a publication or with other required mailings of the club.

In February, the Treasurer shall provide the Breeder Directory Chairperson and the Awards
Committee Chairperson the list of SSCA members of the previous year who have not
renewed their dues for the current renewal period. The Breeder Directory Chair will verify if
any are on the Breeder Directory listing and notify the member that they have been
removed from the Breeders Directory listing. The Awards Committee Chairperson will
verify that all individuals applying for awards are current members of the Club. The
Membership Committee Chairperson shall forward a list of new members for the previous
year to the Awards Committee Chairperson, with effective membership date, at the
beginning of each year.

The Treasurer will request the bank where SSCA funds are held to send a duplicate bank
statement to the SSCA President on a monthly basis.

AKC Gazette Columnist
The Board shall appoint a columnist who shall be responsible for the Standard Schnauzer
column published 4 times per year (January, April, July and October) in the AKC
GAZETTE.
- Local Member Club Council
Because of personal contact, the availability of member discussions and the frequency of
meetings, the local member clubs (president or designated alternate) will be invited to
participate in a local member council. The 1st vice president shall serve as liaison with the
local member clubs. The goals are as follows:
- To increase the knowledge and interest of all Standard Schnauzer owners in the
activities and programs of the SSCA.
- To secure the opinions and advice of the local member club when requested.
- To accelerate avenues of communication between SSCA and local member clubs.
- To foster future local member clubs in areas where none exist.
- To assist SSCA in the education of individual Standard Schnauzer owners in such
matters as grooming, showing, breeding and general care.
- All discussion and action involving the local member council shall be conducted by
mail or email unless a telephone conference call is required for effective
communication.

Standing and special committee chairman can serve no more than two years in the same
position; however, the Board of Governors can make exceptions to this rule by a majority
vote of the Board.

2nd Vice President shall oversee the national specialty and act as liaison between the
Specialty Host Club (committee) and the Board.

Up to $300.00 each is allocated to cover expenses of the President (or presiding officer),
and the Secretary to attend the Annual Board and Annual Membership meetings held in
conjunction with the national specialty each year

An advance of up to $3,500.00 will be held in reserve for the following year’s national
specialty. Note: SSCA is a not-for-profit organization and incorporated in the State of
Virginia. Donations made to SSCA are not tax deductable.

The club logo cannot be used without prior Board review and approval.

The SSCA, Inc. will not contribute to local member club specialties.

The country is divided as follows for determining the area in which national specialties will
be held:
- East Coast - New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware,
Maryland, Virginia, Carolinas, Georgia and Florida
- West Coast - California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington
- Central States - all other states.

Any expenditure over $150.00 that is not a normal operating cost for the SSCA and/or
included in the approved budget will require Board approval, and will be reported to the
membership in the next Treasurer's report.

Owner(s) of "Hall of Fame" producer(s) will receive an annual award trophy, presented at
the same time as other annual awards are presented. Entry into the "Hall of Fame"
requires 20 champions for a dog and 10 for a bitch. Owner(s) of Leading Producer(s) will
receive a commemorative certificate at the same time as other annual awards are
presented. To be honored as a Leading Producer requires 6 champions for a dog and 4 for
a bitch.

The Secretary will maintain a record of the SSCA's Standing Rules. These rules shall be
printed in the first SSCA publication published each year.
- Club Publication
- The name of the club publication shall be Pepper `N Salt.
- This publication or an interim newsletter shall be printed a minimum of four times a
year.
- Special issues of publications may be printed with the approval of the Board of
Governors.
- The Board of Governors shall appoint an editor for the club bulletin who shall be
responsible for compiling and publishing the publication. With approval of the Board
of Governors, the editor may appoint other members to this committee to facilitate
publication.

Up to $1,500 shall be allocated for reimbursement of expenses accrued by the SSCA
Delegate (or up to $400 per meeting attended) to attend the quarterly meetings of the
American Kennel Club. The AKC Delegate for the SSCA is an ex-officio, non-voting
member of the SSCA Board.
